## Privacy-First CEX with DEX Options

EVAV operates as a Centralized Exchange (CEX) by default, with optional Decentralized Exchange (DEX) features for users who want more control. This hybrid approach gives you the best of both worlds.

## What This Means for You

### Default: CEX Privacy (Most Users)

* **Your identity stays private** from other users
* **Your purchases remain anonymous** in the marketplace
* **We handle compliance** so you don't have to
* **Simple experience** - no crypto wallet needed

As a CEX, we maintain custody of items onchain while keeping your personal data in our secure database. This lets us offer privacy that current regulations don't allow onchain.

### Optional: DEX Features (Power Users)

When you're ready for more control:

* **Full ownership** of your items onchain
* **Transparent transactions** visible to all
* **Self-custody** of your assets

## Why We Built It This Way

Centralized exchanges are generally easy to use, while decentralized exchanges require some specialized knowledge to access. We believe privacy and usability shouldn't be mutually exclusive.

**Current Reality:** Onchain privacy tools face regulatory challenges. By operating as a CEX, we can offer true privacy today while building toward a decentralized future.

**Future Vision:** As regulations evolve, we'll introduce Railway wallets and other privacy-preserving technologies, allowing full DEX functionality without sacrificing privacy.
